A psychologist, psychotherapist, and psychiatrist at GGZ voor elkaar form a well-coordinated treatment team that provides the patient with integrated care. Together with patients and their loved ones, we work on the effects of treatment and achieving the established goals.

A psychiatrist is a physician who specialized in psychiatry after completing medical school. Like a psychotherapist, a psychiatrist specializes in treating patients with complex mental health complaints. These treatments, which are often intensive and long-term, usually fall under specialized mental health care.
Unlike a psychologist and psychotherapist, a psychiatrist may also prescribe medication in addition to providing psychotherapeutic treatment. Some psychiatrists focus exclusively on medication treatment after completing their training.
